Emmerson Yemati

Background:

Emmerson was the only child born of her mom and dad. When she was born, her mother, who was not a part of the Yemati Family, had almost died giving birth to her, so maybe that’s where Emmerson’s mom’s hate stemmed from. Or maybe it was because she was desperate to prove herself as a wife to her husband and the Yemati Family. But when Emmerson’s mom started noticing that Emmerson was “different,” she started pushing Emmerson hard to not be who she authentically was. She took Emmerson to therapy, would not allow her to change her name, and forced her to go through with the Connection Ceremony all by herself. During that time, her mother had told her “If you don’t figure this out, you are going to die. and if you die, you die.”

Years went by with Emmerson being locked in a room and not allowed to attend Circle Meetings, of her mother having people in the family tell the Death Muses they were trying, and then finally, the Death Muses realizing that Emmerson wasn’t giving anything to The Passing Realm, so she was kicked out and cursed to die.

When that happened, her mother kicked Emmerson out of the town for her to die of the curse. But that was when Fernia found her and saved her.
